New business cards are in

A mixture of colorful, playful and informational.

First Impressions

We are excited to announce that our new business cards have rolled in. These beauties were printed by Staples in Evansville. While typically this sort of update isn’t news worthy, my overall experience with the print team in Staples is definitely worth the right up.

Let’s step back a couple weeks into the design process. The card I had imagined in my head would be nigh impossible to create from a template. Thankfully today’s technology allows me create my own image and have that printed as long as I follow the guidelines of the company I decide to print with. That means that the world is your oyster when it comes to ideas, concepts and even redefining what a business card can do for you.

Once I had settled on the design and the information on the card, I settled into my Photoshop suite and got to work. I knew it would be a tall order trying to accomplish all of the goals I was trying to put onto a 2x3 piece of paper. After watching online video after video and scanning websites to see which could potentially match my energy in this endeavor, I settled on simply traveling to my nearest Staples and going inside to talk feasibility with the team there. Now mind you, this Staples team has been nothing but wonderful with me over the years and I already had my eye on them when scouting out potential printing solutions.

Staples Delivers

Inside, I was able to collaborate with a team member there about how my card would be processed and handled and even what file and dimensions I should be working on if I wanted the best overall print. I had specifically wanted to test my design out before committing to a near thousand potential duds, they were happy to oblige. Good thing this was the case because my original design had a small snafu that would have rendered the whole thing useless. Even though there was a brief miscommunication within the Staples team for a moment with my order, it was rectified quickly and professionally at no charge to me. I couldn’t ask for better conflict resolution from a company.

The end result are the cards you see in the photo. These new additions are quite the pop of color and intricate design that I had longed for in the beginning. If you want to make a fuss about the quality of the cards themselves that was a creator decision, not the printing company. The finished product is wonderful blend of creativity, professionalism and fun without hurting the budget too much here in the beginning. If you see me out and about, be sure to bug me for one of these bad boys; I’d be proud to give you one.

Cheers,

~JT
